These terms apply to your use of Cedar by Arboreal AI (“Cedar,” “we,” “us”), a daily wellness check-in service delivered via SMS.

The service

Program name: Cedar by Arboreal AI

Cedar sends you daily wellness check-ins and coaching messages via text. It’s designed to help you build habits through short, conversational check-ins — not to replace professional medical or mental health treatment.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to sign up for or use Cedar.

SMS details

Message frequency: Varies. Typically 1-2 messages per day during active check-in periods, plus occasional onboarding and broadcast messages.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier rates for sending and receiving text messages apply.
HELP — Reply HELP to any Cedar message for support. To reach a person, start any message with # or email [email protected].
STOP — Reply STOP to any Cedar message to opt out and stop receiving texts.

You sign up at arboreal.ai and complete an intake survey (hosted on Tally) where you provide your phone number and agree to receive SMS messages from Cedar by Arboreal AI. We then send you a personalized SMS invitation. You confirm by texting your activation code back, which serves as your explicit opt-in. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

What we expect

Use Cedar in good faith. Don’t use the service to harass, spam, or do anything illegal. We reserve the right to remove users who misuse the service.

Our content and your licence to use it

Cedar, including the software, the check-in messages it sends, the prompts and conversational design behind them, our website copy, and our name and logo, is owned by Arboreal AI and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Cedar for your own habit-building. That licence is for your own use and nothing else.

You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:

copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or white-label Cedar or any part of it;
create derivative works from Cedar, or use it to build, train, fine-tune, evaluate, or improve any competing product, service, dataset, or model;
reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the prompts, models, logic, or conversational design behind Cedar;
use any automated means to access, scrape, harvest, or record Cedar or its messages, including for the purpose of assembling a dataset;
sign up or use the service primarily to study Cedar on behalf of a competitor; or
remove or obscure any notice of ownership.

Your own messages remain yours. This section does not restrict you from talking about your experience with Cedar, quoting your own conversations, or reviewing the service publicly.

These restrictions survive if you stop using Cedar. If you breach them we may suspend or end your access. We reserve all other rights and remedies.

Not medical advice

Cedar is a wellness and habit-building tool. It is not a medical device, therapy, or substitute for professional healthcare. If you’re in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency services.

Availability

Cedar is an early-stage product. We do our best to keep it running, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, pause, or discontinue features as we develop.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make meaningful changes, we’ll let you know via text or email.
